When browsing escort profiles online, location is one of the most important pieces of information. Clients want to know where an escort is actually based—not simply every city they are willing to visit.
At Velvet22, we currently allow one home base per escort profile. This is an intentional choice designed to keep profiles clear, accurate, and easy to understand.
Your home base should represent the city or area where you are primarily based and most regularly available.
For example, if you live and primarily work in Los Angeles but occasionally visit Las Vegas, your home base would be Los Angeles. When you're planning to spend several days in Las Vegas, you can add Las Vegas as a tour instead.
The distinction is simple:
Home Base = where you're primarily based.
Tour = somewhere you're visiting or temporarily available.
This helps clients immediately understand where they can normally expect to find you.
Some escort advertising platforms, including Tryst, allow escorts to list multiple home bases. We understand why this can be useful, especially for escorts who genuinely split their time between several cities.
However, it can also create confusion.
An escort could potentially appear as being based in three different cities, even when they spend considerably more time in one location than the others. From a client's perspective, it isn't always obvious which location is their actual base.
Velvet22 takes a slightly different approach.
By allowing one primary home base, we want an escort profile to answer one simple question immediately:
Where is this escort normally based?
If you're somewhere else temporarily, that's exactly what our tour feature is designed for.
Another reason Velvet22 currently limits escort profiles to one home base is to prevent individual city pages from becoming oversaturated.
If every escort could select multiple home bases, the same profiles could appear across several cities at the same time. As Velvet22 continues to grow, this could quickly make certain city pages unnecessarily crowded.
For example, a city may have hundreds of escorts who are genuinely based there. If escorts from surrounding areas—or even completely different regions—can also add that city as an additional home base, local escort profiles can become buried among people who aren't actually primarily based there.
We want clients searching a particular city to see results that accurately represent the escorts based in that location.
This also gives escorts who are genuinely local to a city better visibility instead of requiring them to compete with the same profiles appearing across multiple locations.
Escorts who are temporarily visiting another city can still gain visibility there by adding a tour with their travel dates.
We believe this creates a better balance: keeping city pages relevant without taking away the ability for touring escorts to be discovered.
Travel is common in the escort industry, and Velvet22 was designed with that in mind.
If you're an escort based in New York but you're visiting Miami for four days, you don't need to change Miami into another home base. Instead, you can create a Miami tour with your travel dates.
This gives clients more useful information because they can see that you're visiting Miami during a specific periodrather than assuming you're permanently based there.
Tours can also help escorts plan ahead and let potential clients know about upcoming availability before arriving in a city.
This is an area we're considering expanding in the future.
There is an important difference between claiming completely separate cities as home bases and serving several areas within the same general region.
For example, an escort may live in one city but regularly work throughout surrounding areas that are only a 1.5- to 2-hour drive away. In situations like this, additional regional home bases could make sense.
In the future, Velvet22 may introduce the ability to add additional home bases when the locations are reasonably close to one another.
The goal would still be the same: giving escorts flexibility without making location information confusing for clients or oversaturating individual city pages.
Clear location information benefits everyone.
For clients, it makes searching easier. If someone searches for an escort in a particular city, they should be able to understand whether that escort is genuinely based there or simply visiting.
For escorts, accurate locations can lead to better-quality inquiries. A client who understands where you're based before contacting you is less likely to message with incorrect assumptions about your availability.
It also keeps tour information meaningful. If every city can simply become another home base, there is less distinction between being locally based and actually traveling somewhere.
A good rule to follow on Velvet22 is:
Choose a home base if: this is the city or area where you primarily live or regularly work.
Create a tour if: you're traveling to another city temporarily and have specific dates when you'll be available there.
If you're constantly working between neighboring cities in the same region, our current one-home-base system may feel more restrictive. That's something we're aware of, and it's one of the reasons we're considering more flexible regional options in the future.
Velvet22 continues to evolve based on how escorts and clients actually use the platform.
We could simply add more location fields, but more options aren't always better. Features should make escort profiles more useful rather than more complicated.
For now, one clear home base combined with our tour feature gives clients an easy way to distinguish between where an escort is normally based and where they're traveling.
In the future, we may expand home-base options for nearby locations within approximately a 1.5- to 2-hour driving radius.
As Velvet22 grows, we'll continue refining features while keeping one principle in mind: escort profiles should be flexible for escorts and clear for the clients searching them.
