Thanks for joining us for our interview series ‘Unveiling Layers’. Today we’re joined by Washington D.C. escort the beautiful Leijla Foss.
How did you get into the industry and what does your journey look like so far?
My start into the adult industry was somewhat unexpected. I had a guy reach out and ask if he could pay me to give me a sensual massage. I thought, “sure that sounds great, why not?”. The guy came over, but the guy left early because he felt the boundaries I put in place were too awkward. After that experience, the wheels in my head started turning. I thought to myself: “If he's willing just to pay to give me a massage I bet others would pay more to go further.” So I took photos of myself and bought an ad. My journey in the adult industry for the last 7 years has been… extensive. Winding. Filled with lots of learning. I started out in San Francisco. Now I live in the Washington, DC area. I started out trying to be like everybody else. Now I have a successful brand based on authenticity and originality. I started out knowing nothing about business. Now I'm savvy enough to offer business and branding advice to other workers in the industry.
Is there something you didn't expect going into the industry?
What surprised me the most along my journey has been the meaning I've found from being a professional companion. In the beginning, it was all about me. It was only about me making more money. It was about me doing what I wanted, feeling beautiful, and feeling desired. Now I have found a huge amount of joy in serving the clients I do— both my gentlemen clients and SW coaching clients. I love knowing that I make a positive difference in the lives of people. And I keep moving forward because I know that I’m bettering the lives of the people who allow me in.
Do you find that there is a type of client who seeks you out, who you really enjoy seeing?
Yes, absolutely. I find that a lot of my clients are driven by values of integrity, growth, authenticity, and communication. Because those are the values I operate by in business. My clients are usually quietly confident in their masculinity. They're not intimidated by my 5’9” height, my business ambitions, me riding a motorcycle, or my strength from working out. And I ultimately find my clients dare to live unconventionally.
What are your top three tips for nervous first-time clients?-
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
One hobby is riding my motorcycle. I enjoy riding around the backroads and riding it to make running errands more fun. I've also started doing track days on my motorcycle. So that means trying to go around a race track as fast as I can. I'm not racing— at least not yet— because there's no race start or finishing placement. I'd like to try that someday when I'm more skilled. Another hobby I have is writing poetry. I've written hundreds of poems so far and poetry is one of the things I enjoy sharing on my newsletter. My subscribers love it, too. One day I aim to publish a poetry book. Reading, sewing, working out, travel, learning languages, and cooking are other things I do in my spare time.
Is there a book, blog, TV show, or movie that has had a major impact on your life? What was it and what did it teach you?
My favorite book of all time is called The Blood of Flowers. I read it when I was about 17 years old and it's one of the few books I reread over and over again. One of the many things this book taught me is to believe in myself when it seems like everything is going wrong and nobody else believes in me.
